PITP Experience of Licensed IDALS Instructor Harsha Shah
Hello
everyone, my name is Harsha Shah and I am an IDALS Licensed Instructor
currently working in a school as Dance teacher as well as also taking private
online and offline classes. In this blog I am going to provide my feedback of
PITP (Professional Instructor Training Program) i.e., Licensing course which
has helped me to achieve whatever I have today.
I found
this course important for myself because I knew having knowledge of something
and able to pass it to others in a meaningful way are completely different
things and doing this course will help me become better communicator for
sharing right knowledge. This course started with simple yet important part that
we usually don’t pay our attention to, which is how to introduce yourself to people
so that they have their keen attention and are eager to listen to what we are
saying. This small introduction can decide your further path as it defines your
confidence, communication skills, ability and much more. We learnt and worked
in detailed on every aspect.
Going
further we learnt how to represent yourself in a class so that students find
you approachable to ask any doubts without any hesitation while maintaining
teacher student healthy relation. How to keep class engaged in learning,
finding out and working on different methods so students can easily grasp what
we actually want them to learn were the topics taught further.
At a point
after gaining all this knowledge I thought what more will be there in this
course. But trust me there was a lot more. As we all know being efficient is not
only important but also being at right place is also very important. A book can
be source of knowledge/information for someone or even scrap for someone. It’s
presence at right place changes its importance. Now we were taught how to find
right position or place to work for, so that you are responsible of other’s growth
as well as don’t hinder your progress. We were given detailed knowledge of
mediums which can help us communicate and reach us at our right place. Be it
making your dance video, your work profile on professional sites or making a
website as profile or as simple as writing email, many mediums were taught to
us.
Thinking of
what further! what further! There are still many things which we didn’t even
think of. Preparing yourself for best as well as worst. Here we were prepared
for the scenario if due to some reason you are not able to dance be it if you
are not physically fit or simply want to switch your career but remain
connected to dance. We were introduced to many possibilities on which we can
work on and earn as our daily bread.
This is
what I think was highlight of complete course, not depending on someone but
creating endless opportunities for yourself. Becoming ATMANIRBHAR.
Trust me
there is a lot more what we learnt and which is not possible to share in a
blog. It was the best course for me to transform myself from Dance artist to
Dance Instructor. I would like to thank Shijin Ramesh sir for working on his
ideas and bringing such amazing course which is first Licensing course in the
field of Dance in India and taking a step to represent Dance as profession.
Hope my blog would help people in some way if they look to pursue this course at IDALS. All the best for your future endeavors!
